Coffee with the Principals

GATE students at Rio Vista are clustered in mainstream upper grade classes where they are challenged to achieve their highest potential. They are placed with teachers who receive ongoing training to compact and differentiate GATE instruction. Enrichment opportunities are available in the classroom setting and through STEM technology lab, fine arts (instrumental and vocal music, annual musical theater production, district art show) and field trips. As appropriate, GATE
students may work at an accelerated pace in academic areas. GATE students are also encouraged to participate in leadership roles, such as Student Council.
