additional facility improvements are beginning this summer at Rio Vista Elementary.
A new eight-classroom building will replace most of the portable buildings at the back of the school. When completed in May 2011, students will enjoy eight new spacious classrooms with ample storage space, improved lighting, heating and air conditioning, and two computer pods. All classrooms will be equipped with the latest interactive technology. New student restrooms are also part of the project. A few portables are still needed at the campus but will be replaced with newer buildings.
The multi-purpose room building will also be expanded to better accommodate school activities, provide a shaded area for students while they stand in line for lunch and improve the kitchen circulation and efficiency. The project will be completed in June 2011.
