$95.3 million in Additional School Facility
Improvements Begin This Summer in PYLUSD
While
students enjoy summer vacation, 22 major school facility improvement projects
will get underway thanks to the community’s Measure A school bond.
“Students will see many improvements when they return,” said Superintendent Dennis Smith. “Portable buildings will be removed to pave the way for permanent classrooms and construction will begin on school media centers, multipurpose room expansions and more.”
The 22 improvements are only a portion of the already-completed and future projects. These summer projects are another $95.3 million investment in district schools.
Projects are possible thanks to the community’s support of the Measure A bond approved by voters in 2008. The district is modernizing classrooms, offices and restrooms; constructing new classrooms to replace aging portables; building and improving performing arts and athletic facilities; and upgrading classroom technology.
